In a close match Team Belilos held onto a one-run lead against Team Demas for the win!
Team Belilos had a rough start this season, but finished with 11 consecutive victories to win the Alliance Division championship. The final game was a hard-fought 4-3 victory. Carson Black was the starting pitcher and yielded only one run over the first four innings. Winning pitcher, Charlie Beck, surrendered only two runs over the final three innings. Catcher Will Winterling played strong defense, limiting opposing runners and making an outstanding catch on a pop up down the line. The team had RBIs from Brady Kennedy, Winterling, Clay Henderson, and Jackson Watt. Shortstop, Marlon Watt and first baseman Will Cordon were defensive standouts. Outfielders Frankie Diminia and Jackson Watt made critical catches. Missing from the game today were Blake McAndrews and James Winters, both of whom were big contributors in getting the team to the finals. Both McAndrews and Winters, as well as James Jones, contributed with big hits in the semifinal game, and McAndrews pitched three strong innings in the semi-finals to allow the rest of the pitching staff to remain fresh for the finals. The semi-final game included a 14-run first inning in which each of the 12 players had a hit.
See you in September!
